The Brief.
When the Elaka team approached us, they shared their struggle to stand out on crowded shelves and convey the essence of their brand. Customers frequently over-looked their frozen desserts, despite their premium quality and unique flavors. The challenge was to design a visual identity that would capture the nostalgia of indulgent treats while exuding the elegance of a high-end dessert experience. The brand needed a cohesive, recognizable look that told a story— starting with its name,“Elaka,” which means “cardamom” in the founder’s native language.
Design Decisions.
To capture the essence of life around the lake, we developed assets around the tag-line “Coffee. Lake. Chill.” This simple yet evocative phrase became the cornerstoneof Kunu Coffee’s identity, aligning the brand with the relaxed, community-focusedculture of Lake Norman.
The visual identity features a playful color palette balanced by clean, elevated ty-pography, ensuring it feels both inviting and refined. These elements are consistent-ly applied across all touchpoints, from merchandise and signature menus to printand marketing materials. As Kunu Coffee continues to expand, we remain an activepartner, crafting seasonal merchandise, custom marketing collateral, and digital as-sets to ensure the brand evolves while staying true to its roots as a vital part of thecommunities they serve.
