The Brief.

Habitat Heroes is a floors and painting company in Austin, Texas, built by craftsmen with decades of experience and a people first approach. On the job, they were meticulous, prepared, and deeply respectful of every home they stepped into. But the brand did not look that way.

Their original identity was a classic clipart style startup logo. It made them feel like a day one, non expert outfit in a market crowded with polished competitors. The brand did not communicate the care behind the work, the tidy process, or the pride they took in leaving every room brighter than they found it.

As they grew their team and leadership and started aiming to become a go to choice in a very competitive Austin market, they knew the brand had to catch up.

Dreamlit was brought in for a full rebrand. Keep the name. Rebuild everything else.

We were asked to create a custom identity that would be unforgettable on trucks, uniforms, print, and digital, and that could support a customer experience built around reviews and referrals. The result needed to express who they really are. Prepared. Protective. Craft driven. And committed to helping people love where they live.

Design Decisions.

Habitat Heroes is not just a service company. In the eyes of their customers, they are the people who show up, protect the home, and leave it better than they found it. That is hero work.

We built the brand around that idea.

A shield that tells the whole story
The new logomark uses a shield to unite the two core services, floors and painting. Within that shape, negative space creates both an H and the abstract image of two people shaking hands. It signals agreement, trust, and a job finished the right way. In one mark, you see protection, partnership, and the dual nature of the business.

Two characters, one heroic team
Because Habitat Heroes insisted on keeping both floors and painting under one roof, we leaned into the duo concept and created two signature characters.

Hardy the Hero represents the flooring side. He is grounded, steady, and shaped by years of craftsmanship.

Sunny the Sidekick embodies the painting side. She is expressive, color driven, and focused on transforming the feel of a space.

Together, they become the Habitat Heroes. This pairing lets the brand talk about two trades while still feeling like one cohesive story. It also gives the company flexible, memorable visuals for trucks, web, social, and print that families can instantly recognize.

A look that feels tidy, bright, and people first
Visually, the identity leans into clean shapes, strong lines, and a color system that feels optimistic without becoming cartoonish. Typography was chosen to feel sturdy and legible for yard signs and trucks, while still carrying personality for homeowner touchpoints like proposal folders and leave behinds.

The brand language reinforces the same idea. Upgrades should feel easy, not chaotic. Clear plans. Thoughtful protection. Crews who communicate and care. Every line points back to the promise of homes that feel newer, brighter, and easier to love.

Turning the brand into a review and referral engine
From there, we built a full print and collateral kit designed to turn each project into future work. Estimate folders, project checklists, care cards, review and referral inserts, and simple neighbor pieces all follow the same visual and verbal system.

The values behind the scenes Always Be Prepared, Protect The Fortress, Own The Outcome, Communicate With Clarity are baked into how these tools look and what they say. Customers see that care in the protection of their space and in the clarity of the process, then get an easy way to talk about it afterward.

Since launch, Habitat Heroes now shows up as the expert, not the startup. A company that respects the home, delivers durable beauty, and gives homeowners a reason to be proud of where they live and who they hired to improve it.
